About Australian Home Equipment

Australian Home Equipment is an independent reference site for the equipment that keeps Australian homes comfortable: split-system and ducted air conditioners, pool chlorinators and pumps, and hot water systems. Every page answers one question โ€” what a code, light or symptom means, what you can safely check yourself, and when to call a licensed trade โ€” and every calculator shows its formula and sources.

We are not affiliated with Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu General, Panasonic, Kelvinator, Rinnai, Rheem, Dux, AquaMAX, AstralPool, Zodiac, Hayward, Davey, Waterco or any other manufacturer named on the site. Brand names are used to identify the equipment the information applies to.

Facts on this site come from manufacturer operation and service manuals, Australian regulators and consumer bodies, and are dated on each page ("Last checked"). Where a manual is silent we say so rather than guess. If you find a discrepancy with your own manual, tell us through the contact page and we will check it.

The site is funded by advertising and affiliate links, which are marked. They never change what we recommend: the safest answer on most of these pages is "check these things, then call a licensed technician", and we say that even when it means a shorter page. See the editorial policy.
